We are excited to announce that LCYSA will be offering Spring Pickup Games on our South field this season! Here are the details:

Dates: Saturdays, April 5 through May 24 (no games on April 26)

Times:

• K-3rd Grade: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

• 4th-8th Grade: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Registration: Limited to 60 players per session. To ensure an optimal experience, there could be up to 4 substitutes per field depending on attendance.

Game Format:

• Fields will likely be set up for either two 2v2 games or one 4v4 game to encourage more touches on the ball and better decision-making.

• Players may be mixed across grade levels to create balanced and competitive teams.

Additional Info:

• There will be no referees, but field monitors will be present to help resolve any concerns and assist with substitutions.

• No goalkeepers will be used, and players will be encouraged to join the attack and avoid "puppy guarding" the goal.

• Players are also encouraged to control the ball and focus on dribbling or making intentional passes rather than simply kicking the ball.

Important Notes for Parents/Guardians:

• Parents are required to stay at the field complex but are not expected to watch the games.

• Parents who do watch are kindly asked not to give instructions during the game. This is a great opportunity for players to be creative and explore the game on their own. Encouragement and cheering are always appreciated!

What to Bring:

• Water

• Shin guards (ideally covered by socks or pants)

• Soccer-specific cleats

• Appropriate clothing for the weather

Additional Notes:

• Any fall coaches that are cleared are welcome to assist with Parke. Please let us know if you're interested!

• Team pennies/vests will be provided to use during the sessions.

• This is a new program, so please be patient as we work through any kinks.
